Frequently Asked Questions
1. What do I need to do in order to have my credentials evaluated?
In order for us to prepare an evaluation report for you, we must have the following items:
– A completed and signed ‘Application for Evaluation of Educational Credentials’, which can be downloaded here.
– Full payment for the services you are requesting.
– Clear and legible photocopies of all postsecondary educational credentials received.
– Please check Required Documentation to determine if you have additional requirements.
– An accurate English translation of all non-English language documents you submit.

2. How long will it take to receive my evaluation?
Most evaluation reports are prepared within 5 business days, upon receipt of all necessary documentation.

3. What if I need my evaluation sooner?
Evaluation reports can be prepared on a rush basis; we offer same day service and three-day rush service. Please see Fees and Services for additional information.

4. Can I obtain additional copies of my evaluation report at a later date?
Yes. You will receive two copies of your evaluation report when it is completed; additional copies can be requested at anytime.

5. Will Educational Perspectives translate my educational credentials?
No. Educational Perspectives does not prepare translations. In order to prepare an evaluation of your educational credentials you must submit an English translation of all non-English language documents.

6. Will Educational Perspectives give me a university diploma or a degree?
No. Our evaluation reports state the equivalent of your non-US education in terms of education offered at regionally accredited institutions in the United States. Our evaluation reports are designed to help you be admitted to a university program, receive transfer credit for study completed, assist your attorney in the visa application process, or help a state licensure/certification board determine if you can be licensed in your profession.

7. Do I need to send my original documents?
In most cases no. Clear legible photocopies of official educational credentials will be sufficient. Sometimes however, original documents may be required in order to prepare your evaluation report. If you are required to submit your original documents, we will contact you by post, email, telephone, or fax to inform you of this requirement. We suggest that you send your originals via a reputable courier service. Upon completion of your evaluation, Educational Perspectives will return your original documents by a secure method, unless courier service is requested.

8. Do the photocopies of my documents need to be notarized or certified?
No. Un-notarized photocopies are sufficient.

9. What will my evaluation report look like?
Sample Reports
Your evaluation report will clearly state the academic credentials you received, the institution you attended, the date you received them, and the US equivalent of your education. Our official seal will be placed on each copy of your evaluation report and the completed report will be placed in a sealed envelope.

10. What if I submit forged or altered documents?
If you submit forged or altered documents no evaluation report will be prepared, your documents will not be returned, and you will not receive a refund of the amount you paid. In addition, this information will be shared with other evaluation agencies and appropriate institutional authorities.

11. If I have more than one degree or diploma will I have to pay more for my evaluation report?
No. The fee for your evaluation report covers the cost of preparing an evaluation of all of the educational documents you submit, regardless of the number. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact us directly on 312-421-9300.

13. Can I hand-deliver my materials to your office?
No. Educational Perspectives conducts its business by mail and cannot accept applications, documents, or payment on a ‘walk-in’ basis. However, special arrangements can be made for courier delivery of your materials if you wish – please contact us by telephone to make these arrangements.
